Last Night’s Meeting
What is Rotary? Greg M, Tania and Les spoke to us as a friendly and timely reminder about the values and ideals of Rotary and how we fit into them. Key points to take with us is the Motto ‘Service Above Self’ and that fellowship drives the club. We should focus on initiatives to assist people that further extends goodwill and peace – not just in our community but in communities afar that require assistance. We should be inclusive of all – not be political. A key word from the open discussion was ‘passion’ – for the club, its members and projects. Les provided a very good hand out on the Object of Rotary, The Four-Way Test and the Rotary Code of Conduct which I have attached to this email. I haven’t done justice to the words spoken last night (apologies for this!) but am hopeful the 15 members present can relay to those members that weren’t.
Amalia’s First Visit to Eumundi Rotary. Amalia joined Tania at last night’s meeting. She’s been in Australia for 3 months now and has already been to Sydney and Moreton Island (for a marine science course). Amalia is at Noosa District and finds it very different from school’s in Sweden but is finding it fun to experience. We have asked Amalia to come up with a ‘bucket list’ which members can help her achieve.
