A small number of Rotarians attended Thursdays meeting for Directors Reports.
President Greg announced the formal appointment of Peter Syson as President Elect – congrats Peter.
Greg made mention that Selda from the Eumundi playgroup will be coming along to talk about the needs of the playgroup.
Big thanks to Dani, Richard, Janet & Melissa for the great organization of the Drag Queen Bingo. A big effort which has raised approx.. $2,200. A suggestion that we could maybe do this every 6 months.
Community – Janet: –
Easter Raffle. Janet, Bob & Peter will walk the streets during the week, and maybe have a stint at the markets. Any offers of assistance welcome. Raffle to be drawn on Easter Saturday – tickets sold to be given to Janet before then.
$350 to be given to Eumundi SS for tree planting – Janet will construct an accompanying letter – look to organize a promotional photo and report to go into the Green.
Christmas Donations from Bunnings and OfficeWorks – let’s be organized and early in organizing this raffle.
BBQ Bunnings – Sunday 16th – discussion on assistance from Greg Ison’s Mum & daughters group. What to share with them from the day – agreed to give 25% of profit.
Query on Anzac Day – are we providing the Breakfast – Greg to follow up with Donata.
Membership – Bob – advised the Ken to inducted shortly and there are several other prospective members.
Treasurer – Les advised that there are a few outstanding donations for Katie Rose. Respective people to follow up.
Kevin shared a joke which revolved around old ladies and toilet habits!!! Ask Kevin for a re-run.
President Greg – reminded us of the 3 questions previously raised – he is still awaiting responses from several members. Questions to be discussed at a later date. Greg also mentioned a review of the tempo of the club – for further discussions.
Greg announced that as Duncan is no longer a member, we needed to appoint a secretary. Bob C who was listed for Secretary for 2017-2018 has accepted the challenge and we now need to organize for Bob to be able to access our club details and make sure all member details are correct.
Discussion on fundraising issues – – how to spend. Should we keep some for future needs – eg Cyclone Vanuatu and should we look at keeping some in Reserve to go towards International Grants projects.
It was decided to cancel the meeting for 13th April, as many members had Easter commitments.
Item of Interest
Les had 2 interesting topics, both of which involved the latest holiday in Fiji – the beautiful gardens of the late Raymond Burr and Les losing his phone!!! Ask Les for details.
